About This Track

A few SampleSwap samples here, including all the vocal (spoken) samples, a few bits of percussion and the indian lady's vocal which has been quite mangled and chopped compared with the original. Also used was a PC running Cubase SX2 with a few VSTs plus an Access Virus and Korg Prophecy.

  Also a fantastic psytrance piece. Superb production. Nice stutter gating on the vox at 4:30 -- what plugin/tool do you use for that? So critical to Shpongle type stuff :) Also are you the same astroboy that used to use sampleswap back when it was the "ontology" hotline server?

  Hi, cheers for the feedback - the cut up vocal was done by literally cutting up and rearranging the sample in Cubase – very longwinded and not automated at all – but you do get ultimate choice over where and how every single segment sounds so the time and effort is usually worth it. I’ve panned some samples hard left and some hard right, with only one channel being processed with reverb so you get the voice going back and forth from each speaker, some with effects and some without. I kinda like the effect, and it makes it a bit psychedelic I guess. Thanks to SampleSwap for hosting the sample! In response to your question – I imagine I am the same Astroboy that used to be on the old server. I discovered SampleSwap a long time ago and then kind of forgot about it until recently when I got an email saying new samples had been uploaded – which is when I found out about the competition. I don’t really go in for this sort of thing often but I thought – why not?
